Why you were never asked
A consent banner exists to ask permission for cookies. This site sets none, so there is nothing to ask and nothing for you to click away before you can read anything.
That is not the usual claim of "only the necessary ones". There are zero. Open your browser's developer tools on any page here and the cookie list is empty.
What is in your browser instead
Up to three small entries, saved by the site in your browser's own storage. None of them is a cookie: they are never attached to a request, never sent to my server, and cannot be read by any other site.
- nt-theme Whether you switched the site to light or dark. Without it the page would flash the wrong colours at you on every load. Stays until you clear your browser data
- nt-reel-session That you have already entered a valid reel code, so refreshing the page does not ask you for it again. Only set if you have used a code. Gone when you close the tab
- nt-reel-viewed That the reel has already started playing in this tab, so that refreshing it does not tell me twice that you watched it. Gone when you close the tab
None of them carries an identifier, and none can be used to recognise you anywhere else. The same job is usually done with a signed session cookie; this way the value never leaves your device at all.
Nothing is embedded from anywhere else
No third-party player, no social buttons, no advertising, no Google anything. The fonts are served from this domain rather than a font network, and the images are my own files.
Two requests do leave this domain, and neither sets anything in your browser. Page views are counted by Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and without an identifier. The reel video is fetched from Cloudflare storage through a link that is signed and expires.
Clearing it
Your browser settings will delete site data for this domain, or block storage for it entirely, the same way they would for cookies. Nothing here depends on it: the theme goes back to following your system setting, and the reel asks for your code once more. That is the whole cost.
